The history of the LORUSSO Company has its roots in the ancient traditions of Apulian food. The history of the company over the last century is intertwined with that of the city of Bari itself.
Saverio Lorusso, born in 1900, was the founder of the first of five generations that have developed the company from a small stall in the fish market of the historical centre to a company with a number of employees and international partners.
The growth of the company took off in 1943, when Saverio Lorusso handed down the business to his son, Giovanni, who began to weave a network of working relationships with the regions of Veneto, Sicily, Emilia Romagna and Calabria.
In 1975, the company moved from its former site in the historical centre to new and larger premises in the port area, matching the ambitions of the next generation overseen by Giovanni's son Saverio.
Thanks to a strong impetus for innovation and discovery, the company began, from the early 1980s, to trade with European countries such as France, Greece, the Netherlands and Spain, and later also with Tunisia, Mauritania and Senegal.
Today, LORUSSO Prodotti Ittici is able to rely on a recently renovated state-of-the-art headquarters, its own fleet of vehicles, a number of employees and international partnerships. This enormous wealth of experience is the guarantee of total reliability and professionalism.
